“In addition to old wooden halls of religious and genre paintings, the bratislava city gallery is showing an expansive body of works by slovak heroine, sculptress Maria Bartuszová. It’s exactly what i wanted to see here, in a city known for its soviet-era brutalism. Bartuszova takes hardness and makes it soft, with arrangements that mirror ecological systems and forms with strong currents of eroticism. Gorgeous work, gorgeously presented.”
