“The flag of Gibraltar features its coat of arms, which was granted by Queen Isabella I of Castile from 1502, despite that the Rock has been held by the British since 1704. The design is based on the fact that the British Overseas Territory was once referred to as the “key to Spain” by the Moors, and the British called it the “key to the Mediterranean,” which has proved true. So cool.”
