“Dino De Laurentiis produced two big space operas chasing “Star Wars”, they’re both highly stylized epics where some Earth doofus shows up to liberate space and maybe does some sword fighting. From a pitch perspective they’re basically the same movie. Neither of them really landed and they’re both deeply weird, and make a killer double feature.”
