“great, fun documentary from 2024 about the band pavement. experimental in style: in addition to covering the band itself, it also digs into the making of a fictionalized biopic about the band as well as a live sung-through jukebox musical featuring their songs (both of which are also directed by alex ross perry). malkmus is curmudgeonly in an endearing way and wonders aloud about whether any of this is a good idea. maybe not? worth a watch just the same.
