“The late sparkly-clutch designer Judith Leiber moved to Springs with her husband in 1956, when it was all woods. Today, the charming museum she built to house her handbag collection is open year-round, and along with the gardens it makes a sweet little outing. You can walk through in 15 leisurely minutes. I’m into the weirder clutches, like the artichoke and the Humpty Dumpty. The museum was bequeathed to the town, but the saltbox-style mansion Leiber built next door, with a giant artist’s studio, is on the market for about $6 million. 446 Old Stone Highway, Springs”
