Something entirely unfathomable to the average high schooler who went back to school shopping once a year. Old and new money alike in their little leather statements. The shoes were treated like the disposable flip flops from pedicure places. Used to prop open doors, as "rain shoes", and to crush up ritalin on those heavy wooden dorm room desks. New money played a game of who can have the most worn out Chanel flats. Something about treating something poorly dictated that you didn't care if you lost it, you would just get another pair. I wanted them desperately. I wanted to beat the shit out of them too.”
