“One of my favorite places in Brooklyn! They do classes and also open mics and events and readings etc. Really community-oriented and thoughtful and a truly shockingly beautiful (and somehow simultaneously cozy) space. I am more of a prose writer, but something I really appreciate about poetry is how much it happens in community — it’s really made to be shared and read out loud. Sometimes writing is so lonely, and it’s nice to find ways to connect over it and make it more of a social practice (and associate it with something other than just staring at your computer and screaming). I’ve read here a bit, but I’ve hosted a fundraiser here too! Anywhere that lets me do fundraisers is my friend.”
