“i really enjoyed this daruma painting workshop at The Daruma Club. a daruma is a traditional japanese doll that symbolizes perseverance and good luck. you paint in one eye when you set a goal, and once you achieve it, you fill in the other eye. they showed a video of where they source the and how each one is carefully made before it even gets to the club. they also provide a written detailed guidebook (available in multiple languages) that explains the history, meaning, and traditions behind it. this was useful in deciding what wishes and goals i wanted to put on the daruma!”
