This book is like that for mushrooms (reading it led to years of mushroom walks with my kid + inadvertently resulted in me editing two issues of a mushroom magazine). A combination of goofy doodles + useful morsels of information, just enough to tempt you up and off the couch to go out and look for mushrooms (one of the v. best hobbies, because you can do it anywhere. I have found true stunners in the mulched islands of big box stores).”
