“8/10. This album saw a return to a more melodic, classic-rock centered sound, and I’m all for it. This was also the first full album by a major release to be available for digital download before its physical release. In fact, in interviews, Bowie predicted the impact of the internet as not just a tool, but as something that would completely turn every industry on its head. The release of this album was just one way he foresaw what the world was on the brink of in 1999. I’m curious what he would think of Machine Learning if he were still alive today. God, I would’ve loved to see him on a podcast. On the album, it’s got some amazing songs, highlighted by Thursday’s Child, Survive, Seven, and The Dreamers. The album was also derived from the soundtrack of a cyberpunk video game, Omikron: The Nomad Soul, in which Bowie even had a cameo”
