“When I was a kid they used to play reruns of The Monkees tv show from the 60s and I became obsessed with Davy and Mickey. Granted, they were in their 40s at this time and I was like 7. Long story short, they are more than a "made for TV" band and this song (and many other of their songs) is a banger.”
