The American housing landscape is becoming more expressive from the inside out, but at the same time turnkey resale is driving up the cost of home ownership. So: What trade-offs are we willing to make? Does the functionality of a renovation choice outweigh, strictly-speaking, "consumptive" decision making (aka aesthetics)? Where do functionality and consumption meet and with what kinds of financial margins are decisions made? How are elements of bohemian originality in residential real estate making their way into these uniform "little boxes"? I digress.
