A 45 minute indie folk dirge reflecting back on Phil Elverum's time coming up in the PNW DIY music scene, personal tragedy, earnest reflections on the meaning of life. Something about the repetition, imaginative travel to other time periods, luminous detail, and the dilation of time caused by the repetition and length of the song (and little bursts of melancholy or bliss that come with the changes) feels like the best and worst of that weird year. There's a really great video where he stacks photographs for the duration of the track but its not enabled to share on other websites.”
