“Cyrus Harp is a naturalist, foraging instructor, ethnobiology researcher, Paleolithic technology expert, and teacher / researcher at UT Austin and UC Berkeley. Frustrated by the lack of comprehensive foraging guides, Harp looked to indigenous ethnobotanies, ethnographies, and histories to understand local ecology based on the knowledge of those who lived with and tended to the United States for thousands of years. His research is hands-on, meaning he often tries out methods and uses for himself, carefully corroborating pre-existing knowledge.”
