“It’s the 1970s and a 20-something poet needs $60 so he gets a temp job cleaning apartments in the city. (basically the premise for s1e1 broad city) My dad gave this to me several years ago after I moved into my first real adult apartment in nyc. It’s short, incisive, clever, charming, and insightful. Written in the ‘70s yet feels so contemporary. Such a unique perspective and glimpse into a slice of nyc during a time of economic turmoil for the city. I’ve lent my copy out to two friends and friend #2 still hasn’t returned it (it’s been over 3 years!!)”
