“sooo i never would’ve known this if one of my best friends didn’t move there but helsinki absolutely rocks. i’ve been to other social democracy countries but nowhere is the safety net as palpable in the fabric of society as it is in finland. finns are so chill and normal because they aren’t in a constant state of fighting over limited resources for survival. the Oodi library will bring tears to your sad american eyes. it’s no paris or rome, but personally i don’t need another one of those. i need the comfort and ease and manageability of helsinki.”
