“In hopes of bettering my luck when it comes to business and money, we went to visit the Kyōto Ebisu-jinja Shrine. Founded in 1202, this is one of Japan's three great Ebisu shrines alongside Nishinomiya in Hyogo and Imamiya Ebisu in Osaka. I also just learned this while researching, but apparently after worshipping at the main hall, visitors typically walk around the left side to the back of the building and knock on the wooden door because Ebisu is famously hard of hearing and needs to be told your wish directly.....I didn't know about this when I was there so hopefully he was listening real well the day I went.”
