“For your Labor Day weekend viewing, might I recommend one of my all-time favorite summer movies, Summer School. Directed by Carl Reiner and starring a dreamy young Mark Harmon, this 1987 film holds up surprisingly well! Genuinely funny, largely unproblematic, and a little bit heartwarming, I always have a great time watching it. Fun fact— I worked with Mark Harmon once and told him how much I loved this movie and he lit up, so I think they had a great time making it too! Streaming free on Kanopy.”
