“At some point, I will probably recommend on this thing every single movie Margaret Sullavan ever made. Which, unfortunately is not actually very many film. She only made 16, vastly preferring the stage and loathing the artificiality of movie stardom. Little Man, What Now? Is not my favorite Margaret Sullavan film (that honor would go to The Shop Around the Corner), but I chose it first because I felt it best represented the healing magic of her presence and beauty (inside and out) and her sweet, grounded performances of humanized women. Probably because of her scanty filmography she’s not brought up as much as her contemporaries, but she totally should be! Go what Little Man, or any of her other films for that matter. Go watch Maggie Sullavan!”
