Louise Buckley“The much talked about newly opened Hermon's has the same warm friendly feeling as your favorite diner, but it's a beautiful restaurant! Tucked into the little pocket of Hermon in Northeast LA, they want to be a neighborhood spot and the energy is there but the waitlist is long. Three of us walked in and sat at the bar next to a guy who lived just around the corner but hadn't been able to get in until that night. Our order: Vermouth on the rocks, chopped chicory salad, tiger prawns, garlic bread, dirty gin martini, cheeseburger, mushroom bourguignon, skillet cookie, and baked Alaska. The pre-martini sequence + cookie is what I'll be returning for. $10 martini from 5-6pm.”

Maya Robles“My grandparents have lived in El Sereno for over fifty years, so when this chic new spot opened up just on the other side of the infamous Monterey Road hill I was so excited to bring them by. We ordered the Shrimp Cocktail, Citrus Salad, Ragu Bolognese and my grandpa ordered the happy hour Cheeseburger special. Absolutely divine!”

Steven Weill“With all due respect to Hermon's and Last Word Hospitality, you've gotta be shitting me with this bullshit. Admittedly good, though derivative vibes, a spotty menu with a few hits and a great bar do not add up to one of the best restaurants in the best food city in America. This is a solid restaurant that hopefully continues to improve, in a great part of town with no other dining options. Highlights: Fancy coconut shrimp is such a win $10 serious fries feels like a gift in this economy The vongole is great and really the only innovative thing on the menu Good drink program Lowlights: Why on god's green earth does there need to be nduja in the prawn sauce? Wait the croutons on the citrus salad have nduja on them too??? Someone here is working on behalf of big nduja Black garlic's molassesness destroys an otherwise delightful chicory salad Mushroom main is a joke”
