I stumbled on this in my pursuit of watching something that didn’t make me clench or cry. Here is a deeply serious/unserious show that when watched, feels like you’re floating in a cup of sleepy time tea being fed yogurt dipped raisins by a member of the Fleet Foxes. Everything from Galifianakis‘ famously dry wit, to the way he genuinely engaged kids in the conversation, and the soundtrack by none other than “Cowboy Shit” Mac Demarco. Recommend for a sit-and-watch with something crunchy, or multitasking in your kitchen. Both feel restorative with this show on.”

Kate Arends Peters“Zach Galifianakis interviews kids and experts about apples and compost. Deadpan and completely enthralled by something ordinary, which is funnier and more moving than I expected.”

sophie“I am not a TV Person. I have tried for years to become one, but it simply wasn’t on the cards until I watched TIAGS. Turns out all I needed was 15 min episodes, cute kids, and a stark reminder that if I don’t get comfy with agrarianism there is no safe place for me in the future of our planet <3”

Roger“To be clear I’ve only watched a couple of episodes because my partner was not into so much Zach Galafianakis (it’s a lot). But it’s so appealing visually and aurally and has this weird/cool pace (slow) and I did come away with an epiphany about roots. Check it out.”

Veronica Calvage“The future is agrarian! Short, informative episodes on topics like tomatoes, fungi, and composting. I’m charmed! Zach Galifianakis is as engaging and hilarious interviewing community garden kids as he is talking with gardening experts. Fun for all ages!”

Katie Brigham“Public television vibes, meant in the sincerest and best way possible. Loved how he talks to the children he interviews (like people!) and loved that I actually took a bit of new knowledge away from each episode. You’ll laugh, but not enough to pop a stitch.”
