“Jack Kirby, creator of Captain America and WWII vet, was 53 years old in 1970. He was not a 60’s person, he was a 40’s person. Still, in the 1970’s he was all in on psychedelic hope and youth culture’s vision of a better future. He often missed the point, he was often goofy, but while many of his contemporaries settled into bitterness and anger about the kids today, Kirby was on the right side of the lines.”
