Veronica MontesFirst to rec“This spot is a beautiful assault on the senses. There are 300 acres of impeccably and ethically managed nature--meadows! forests! bodies of water!--punctuated here and there with enormous sculptures. The post World War II collection of art is installed in pavilions with little to no wall text and no photography allowed inside, a choice that allows distraction-free and authentic engagement. Concrete and steel are all over the place, but softened by maple and teak and, of course, by the nature that surrounds it all, especially the wide open sky. Bonus: it's FREE. It's all free! Except for the little cafe which offers, unsurprisingly, a delicious and locally-sourced menu.”

They release small batches on the first of each month for the next 60 days, so set a reminder. It feels like an art Westworld, and it would be my choice of where to go in an apocalypse to start a dystopian community. Took all afternoon to walk the trails and galleries and have a little lunch at the Cafe. Beautiful beyond measure.”
