Forest Office

“We love an experimental one, though this might have ended up a bit too 'art installation' and not enough 'functional office'. Columns made from thick wooden logs fill this work space in Nagoya City, created by local studio Tomoaki Uno Architects at the base of a former apartment block. Nicknamed Forest Office for hopefully obvious reasons, the small workspace was commissioned by a client who simply requested that "something interesting" be created within half of his office space. Drawing on the site's natural surroundings and a nearby shrine, The firm prioritized natural materials and rough finishes to create an atmospheric, multipurpose space.”
