even*cleveland“The Cleveland Museum of Art is one of the jewels of the city, a relic of gilded age robber baron wealth transmuted into a public good "for the benefit of all the people forever." It's like the Met on a much smaller scale, encyclopedic in collection. Sadly, the community programming has withered over the years and the overall curatorial vision is timid and sclerotic, but the works themselves are magic enough; it is one of my favorite places to spend time. Good restaurant for brunch and coffee at the cafe, and Wade Lagoon (basically the museum's old front yard) is worth walking around after you stroll the galleries.”
