Bernie's

“American comfort food in Greenpoint. I avoided it for a while because it felt less exciting than trying a new cuisine, but eventually I accepted the truth: when you’re in the right mood, mozzarella sticks, shrimp cocktail, burgers, and martinis with friends is an unbeatable formula.”

“It's a beautiful summer day, you're in good company, and you're STARVING. It's nearing 4 pm, Bernie's opening time, and they take no reservations. Line up before 4 and get seated for an early dinner. Start with a caesar salad and/or wedge salad. Get a cheeseburger. Wash all of this down with several aperol spritzes, or dirty shirleys. Finish off the night with a mint brownie sundae (pictured). Throughout your meal, draw several crayon masterpieces on the paper tablecloth. Feel the fullest you've EVER FELT, but still find the energy to get yourself up to Transmitter park for sunset. THAT my friends, is how you enjoy arguably one of the best restaurants in Brooklyn.”

“Occasionally popular restaurants actually are awesome. Bernie’s and Kiki’s — S tier despite the hype”
