Ludwig (1972)

“If you love Visconti, have a penchant for misunderstood (or mad) monarchs and have about 4 hours to spare, Ludwig is for you! The story of Ludwig II is both enchanting and heartbreaking. A creative stuck in a world of politics (my actual nightmare) and forced to fight his urges (rather poorly and we love that about him!). Helmut Berger IS Ludwig II, he is the Fairy Tale King in the performance of a lifetime. This movie pairs well with: Empty Theatre: A Novel”
