“No book has so deeply enraptured me. In a state where I felt peturbed and pathetic in my inability to connect with male centered media, I finally felt that I had once again entered a groove through this book. I’ve wanted to read it since I was very young and maybe that’s why it felt so amazing, it was the culmination of years of reading under desks and in the dark. Nonetheless, lovely, amazing, entertaining, and maternal.”

“this is one of my favorite books I’ve ever read. It’s an intergenerational epic. It’s really beautiful and engrossing and very funny and shows the sweep of time and human life and politics and it’s really stayed with me. Allende channeled something wild with this book.”
