“The jaunty art fair Paris Internationale Milan edition opens soon, and if I could I’d go just to see a presentation of new paintings by Caroline Bachmann with Meyer Reigger. Little known in the US but beloved in Switzerland, Germany, and France, Bachmann is really one of my favorite painters— her landscapes of Lake Geneva have a deadpan humor to them inherited by her star pupil, Nicolas Party. Plus she’s a wonderful human being.”
