“This is a totally different ecosystem that what people think of when they think of Joshua Tree. It’s the Colorado Desert side of the park and is flat, sandy, and vast, and the drive there includes a dramatic vista descending into it from the rocky side of the park. It’s almost always empty. I find it very peaceful and beautiful to walk through.”
