Minna KellyFirst to rec“The conceit is that host Jonathan Goldstein helps people resolve unfinished emotional business from their past. Melancholy and funny (best combo?) + both low- and high-key life changing, potentially. Ep. 2 is an all-time piece of work.”

Mia“I’d listen to anything Jonathan Goldstein creates, but Heavyweight is particularly meaningful. Each episode follows Goldstein as he helps a person make right what they got wrong in the past. As someone who tends to shy away from conflict and hesitates to speak up, I find their seemingly simple acts of bravery incredibly inspiring.”

E_C_B“One of the best out there when it comes to storytelling. Heavyweight’s episodes focus on an individual and a defining moment or person in their life—a car accident, a summer in Italy with a stranger-turned-friend, witnessing a terrible injury in the ER, being on a jury, finding a suitcase full of love letters—and the stories that grew from those moments. Each episode is so full of compassion and humanity. I went through and listed some of my favorites, below: #12 Jesse #14 Isabel #18 Sven #35 Rachel & Jon #37 John #40 Barbara Shutt / #41 Barbara Wilson #50 Nick”

Ariana“A podcast I would recommend to anyone, anytime. It is funny, smart, and sincere. It is about being human, with all the doubts and imperfections that come along with that. It's a great one to binge on a long road trip (caution: may involve driving while crying) or while washing dishes. Start anywhere, but the episode that got me deeply hooked was the delightful "Rob."”
Hannah M. Wilde“I’ve relistened to most of the episodes! This podcast sort of shows in real time how people do change (or at least, change their perceptions in a way that lets them live life differently!”
