Lily“I almost never listen to my books but come on. A memoir. By Lena Dunham. Read in her actual own voice? It’s a no brainer. With all these years of retrospect I am firmly convinced that she is the voice of her/my generation. It’s all that much more magical that she wrote that line before we really knew how true it would be. Also, I listened to this while walking around Paris on a springtime solo vacation and if you can replicate that experience I recommend it as highly as possible.”

Amalia“this book has me all the way fucked up and somehow looking at my sick/drug using mother with a softer gaze than i have in decades. i’m so grateful that lena has been here to reflect so many experiences through my shithead twenties and into my migraineur late 30s. side note… get your audiobooks from libro.fm cause they aren’t evil and you’re buying your books from real stores. fuck audible!”

Cecilia“Oversharers REJOICE! Famesick is beautifully written: vulnerable, self-aware, and funny. A great read for any woman who’s spent her entire life being told she’s “too much.” Beyond her raw telling of what followed her success... the LORE! She spared no detail. Lena has gone through so much, we’re lucky she’s still with us, still writing, and still letting us into her world. Thank you, @Lena Dunham <3”

April“Just finished today. I love Lena’s writing voice and loved the book. I laughed out loud within the first few minutes. I also was so interested in the behind the scenes as a huge fan of GIRLS. My SIL does EDS research and it was so interesting to read about Lena’s experience with the illness. Her story with Jenni Konnor was so relatable to those of us that have had a painful outgrowing of a long term friendship we thought would be forever and those who struggle to navigate how power dynamics and dual relationships can be confusing to navigate within friendship.”

Sophie B“There's a small part of me that will never be able to shake the feeling that listening to a book on audio (as opposed to reading it) is somehow cheating, but hearing @Lena Dunham narrate her new memoir, Famesick, has made me realize there’s something uniquely intimate about hearing someone tell their own story in their own voice. Lena, it's a pleasure to have you in my headphones.”

Linda“Lena Dunham you are a voice of a generation. Wow. Unlike her last book, which was more a collection of essays, Famesick talks about her sudden rise to fame with the success of Girls and the years that follow. Lots on the relationships closest to her (including Jack Antonoff) and her ongoing health struggles. When telling people I’m reading this, many people still have an ‘ew’ reaction to her in general…if that’s you maybe examine why!”

kelsey“I laughed, I learned, I loved! I found the rehab chapters until the end very moving. Lena Dunham I would love to eat soft serve ice cream and talk about The Real Housewives of Rhode Island with you. If you watch The Real Housewives of Rhode Island. Otherwise, we can compromise on another show. I'm really flexible.”

Dylan“Lena's candid writing style and natural tendency to over-explain herself (helloooo trauma response!) are soooo relatable to me. I was (and am somehow even more so now) such a huge fan of Girls. The older I get, the more I appreciate how truly mind-blowing it was that someone that young could create something so genius. Reading all the juicy tea from behind the scenes of making the show was, of course, thrilling, and in classic Lena style, she really does spill all the tea. But I was most intrigued hearing about her devastating lifelong struggles with debilitating chronic pain and mysterious illnesses, and how those challenges bled into the rest of her life. I really hope it helps people have more empathy for the invisible health issues that are, especially for women, so often misunderstood, misdiagnosed or dismissed. I hope Lena feels proud. I feel proud of her. @Lena Dunham <3”

Geren“I LOVED THIS BOOK! I'm Gen X, I lived in this sphere in LA & NY when Girls followed SITC and even know some of the folks and all of the places discussed. I thought I would be all boomer about it but nope - it's perfect - give this to your teen, and your dad. This book should be required reading for anyone still not awake to the Truman Show we've been in for the last five decades.- AUDIOBOOK only - you need to hear her tell you the story. Also Industry @Lena Dunham I didn't know and now I see and I'm even more impressed than I was.”
