Diabolical Lies

“Political commentary that’s so funny… you forget to be depressed about the state of the world!”

“HOLYYY SHIT this was so good I was squealing at my cats who just looked at me with utter disdain for the entire 2+ hours. This episode of Diabolical Lies deconstructs "the cultural meaning of the Kennedys — and the attributes we not just accept but admire about this family tell us about our uniquely American pathologies." Or: "the curse that befalls a woman who gets in a Great Man's way". Some of my favourite moments from this ep (you'll need to pay to listen to it in its full two-hours-and-seventeen-minutes glory, but trust me when I say it is WORTH IT): “This show is the entertainment equivalent of this meeting should’ve been an email” “He has no discernible personality” “I AM GOING TO LOBOTOMISE MYSELF!” "There is currently a Kennedy in power wreaking fucking havoc on our country. There’s something pretty fucking insulting about the fact that we - the American public - are making romantic TikTok edits about a man who basically killed his wife with his recklessness, all while the sole surviving Kennedy with power is actively defunding vaccine research." OOOooofttt. The tea is piping hot.”

“Everyone on here was right!!! I am genuinely about to start giving these women my money. Keeping me going while my migraines are too bad for reading. Also their intense research hyperfocus is relatable to me; I am always so impressed by the depth!!”

“Katie and Caro (the former, a personal finance expert and a the latter, the author of Yesteryear) talk about a variety of topics mostly the intersection of pop culture and feminism.”

“such a great commute listen, both makes me joyful and hateful <3”

“New listener and already recommend it regularly. Complexity! Nuance! Humor! Research!”

“Fresh voices and modern vistas on feminism. And thank goodness for them.”

“listen to two feminist queens walk through the societal impact of pop and political cultute”

“About to throw down to get the paywalled eps (which I’ve never done for a pod before!) bc these two are brilliant and funny and every time I listen I feel like that meme of a mind exploding.”

“This pod makes my jaw drop in both laughter and in shock every 30 seconds. It is the perfect blend of feeling like you’re learning something but with your good girlfriends. Texasification of America is my favorite episode.”

“An engaging deep dive into the alliance between neoliberal economics and social conservatism.”

“Wicked smart. Hilarious. Wish I could be friends with them both.”

“if you're a woman add this to your weekly listening list i beg”

“Really thorough deep dives on relevant subjects from a perspective I enjoy (female-centric left). I feel smarter when I listen to this “Is There a ‘Skinny Apocalypse’ in Hollywood?” blew my mind”

“A long-form culture and politics podcast by Katie Gatti Tassin and Caro Claire Burke that will leave you feeling very smart.”

“Super smart n funny gals blasting the patriarchy and capitalism at any opportunity.”

“Do you like smart women discussing everything from captialism to skinnytok to Taylor Swift? Do you want a podcast that blows your mind and makes you laugh/cry? This is it!”

“Two smart women who deeply research each topic - the thesis of each episode usually thumps me in the brain (complementary).”

“Challenge your own assumptions, make new friends”

“That girl in podcast form”

“Extremely long, well-researched hot takes.”

“far and away, the best culture and politics podcast i’ve ever heard. i come from OG money with katie days, so i was here for the humble beginnings, and will be a lifelong subscriber. a truly phenomenal biweekly piece of work.”
