“my mom used to bring me to ten thousand waves as a kid when we visited her brother (my uncle), usually with other folks from his experimental theater company. I remember it feeling so exotic— the Japanese cypress lining the wood bridges you have to traverse to get up to the pools. The scent is so transportive, im not sure i can even smell it objectively but i was thrilled to see Nickey Kehoe carrying it last year. Obviously recommend a visit to ten thousand waves but if you can’t swing it, this is next best. And if you do manage to get to Santa Fe, see if you can catch a Theater Grottesco production & give uncle John a hug for me.”
