“7/10. Spurred on by a tour stop in Philadelphia, Young Americans sees a departure from Bowie's rock-inspired early career in favor of R & B and soul-inspired music. It's a refreshing album, both musically and thematically, and kickstarts what, in my opinion, was the most creatively adventurous era in Bowie's career. Opener Young Americans and closer Fame are definitely the two most famous songs on this album (the latter was a collaboration with John Lennon). I am also a fan of Right, Somebody Up There Likes Me, and his cover of the Beatles' Across the Universe.”
