“6/10. This one's okay, the mid-80s were when Bowie really started leaning into that synth-y, artificial sound that makes some 80s music so iconic. I think he really adapted the sound of the time well on Let's Dance, but unfortunately, this sound not being my favorite in combination with slightly worse songwriting from Bowie causes this album to suffer for me. There are still some quality songs, though. Loving the Alien and Neighborhood Threat are rock-y and reminiscent of Aladdin Sane to me. His cover of God Only Knows is also good. My favorite song on this album is his collaboration with Tina Turner, Tonight (the title track). If you like Bowie, you'll at least enjoy this album somewhat.”
