“8/10. Ziggy moves to America: Aladdin Sane. Fitting with American tradition, Aladdin Sane is louder and larger than its predecessor. Ziggy Stardust is an impossible album to follow up, and Aladdin Sane is certainly a small step down as a whole, but it is still one of Bowie's best. It is also his rockiest album, almost sounding like Led Zeppelin at times, especially on songs like The Jean Genie and Panic in Detroit. After this album, Bowie would abandon his Ziggy Stardust character, one of his most iconic personas. Other highlights from this one are Watch That Man, Drive-In Saturday, Time, and Lady Grinning Soul.”
