“this was the museum where I discovered arpilleras— fabrics that women assembled during Pinochet's dictatorship that often depicted explicit scenes of the torture and abuse that occurred during his 17 year long regime. i am so fascinated by arpilleras and love that using women using fabric as a simultaneous mode of resistance via storytelling and pragmatic survival exists across the Global South.”
