“The Olivia Tremor Control's third and final album is a triumph in the face of tragedy (R.I.P. Bill Doss and Will Cullen Hart). Decades in the making, The Same Place is, like Dusk at Cubist Castle and Black Foliage before it, a psychedelic puzzle box brimming with pop confectionery and aural mystery. The brilliant songcraft, maximalist instrumentation, cryptic interludes, surrealist outlook and heartfelt lyricism are all here in abundance. Another gem of new music released in 2026.
No matter what you do
No matter what you say
No matter who your friends are
No matter what you’ve done
You’re headed to the same old place
It’s part of me and you”
