Pumpkinhead

“DAY 20 Ahh, Pumpkinhead. The nightmare living inside my video store. A tale of loss, revenge, and what we become when our pursuit of justice risks our humanity. Pumpkinhead was the directorial debut of special f/x master Stan Winston (The Terminator, Aliens, Predator, Edward Scissorhands, Jurassic Park...just to name a few accolades), which is probably why this creature is so realized and horrific! Stan would go on to mostly work on makeup and effects but horror fans are very appreciative for this little gem. The heart of the story, the practical effects, and the acting (especially Lance Henricksen's performance as grief-stricken Ed Harley) hold up surprisingly well and the title alone makes it an ideal, seasonal watch. Currently on Tubi.”
