“A heirloom apple discovered in the 1700s in Oxford Co, Maine. I’ve only had a few in my day, but they are a treat. The deep purple (almost black) color is so enchanting! Because of the thick skin, the fruit ripens late, you can harvest in early winter! It’s lovely to see the dark hanging fruit on the branches in December. Stores well.”
