“I mean c’mon, look at that color! And before this glory we had giant EDIBLE flowers of red and white dressing up all manner of foods. They’re one of the actually tasty edible flowers. The bees and hummingbirds are all about them. And then the fresh beans go gang busters so you feel like a highly skilled gardener and can make pots and pots of Greek green beans with feta (highly recommend). Then finally you end up here with the easiest-to-harvest and most plentiful beans. Cook them up ala Kachka’s Lobios Salad—a spiced Georgian bean salad loaded with fresh herbs, walnuts, and feta. And I got so excited about the beans and flowers I almost forgot to mention that the tall and vigorous vines are perfect for covering trellises and fences and making forts out of anything. Runner beans!”
