“My beautiful friend Tabitha said this after she realized that keeping the doctor away from me was an extremely bad idea. I had just made a similar joke to my roommate where I took a bite of an apple and said “what have I done??” To be loved is to be seen. Anyway, I need the doctor, but I think the apple is a deeply underrated fruit, especially in its true season, fall. To be eating a crisp New England apple in October? It’s such a perfect, filling snack, even though it kind of hurts my tummy. Pictured here is my favorite apple, the macoun (I stole the picture from a gourmet import website called chefs mandala?). Now that it’s fall, I want to be eating apples all the time, just kind of crunching down the street like a satisfied horse. And now that I’m back in Brooklyn, the Park Slope farmy marky better WATCH OUT.”
