Kanopy

“To my surprise, many are still unaware of the glorious service that is Kanopy. You can access this with your library card at most branches (thank you LAPL!) and it has amazing film and tv options that are all FREE!!!”

“I don't know if everyone knows about Kanopy or no one knows about Kanopy. In case you don't know about Kanopy, here you go. Through your library or university you can make a free account, which gives you monthly credits to watch films. I added about 200 movies to my watchlist, and since there's no way I will be watching 200 movies in the near future I unsubscribed from all other streamers. Hot tip: if you have multiple library memberships or both a library membership and university affiliation, you can have two memberships i.e. double the monthly credits. Nice!”

“U fw kanopy? The last time I looked at it many years ago there was a limited selection and in my hubris I was dismissive. present day, I am looking up a movie and oh it is only on kanopy. make account with my library card turns out there are hours of fun to be had”

“This website links with your library card and provides you with “tickets” to watch movies. I’m in San Diego county and I receive 12 tickets per month which allows me to watch 3-6 movies depending on the titles I select. An amazing thing about the site is that there is a focus on independent films, classic films and documentaries. Also anything categorized for kids is feee and does not use your tickets.”

“Amazing free resource. Connect your library card to redeem monthly tickets. It’s basically Libby but for movies!”

“get yourself a library card and you can access this amazing streaming platform for free!!! how it works: sign up with your library card (most public and university libraries participate), and each month you get a certain amount of free “tickets” that you can redeem to watch movies! they have some criterion collection level flicks on there, go explore!!”

“Kanopy is a free movie and tv show streaming app that is usually accessed through your library via library card (if your library doesn’t offer access to Kanopy, some major cities will give you e-access to it… I’m not totally sure how that works but it’s worth calling around). Kanopy has some popular, old, and obscure movies, so if you are looking for something interesting to watch, check it out!”

“Check it out with your public library. It's a streaming service that's free with a ton of global movies, shows, etc. I love it!”

“Kanopy allows you to find movies, documentaries, foreign films, classic cinema, independent films and educational videos that inspire, enrich and entertain. All you need is a library card! Check out their website to confirm if your specific library participates.”

“Check your local library if they have free subscriptions to some great indie films. Some of the best movies that have premiered at film festivals are here!”

“I’m floored by the selection of films and TV shows available through Kanopy. It’s free, people! Support your public library”

“Making Kanopy my go-to instead of any streaming platform makes me feel smarter somehow. Kanopy lets you stream thousands of films for free, thanks to the generous support of your public library or university.”
