“The best (& cheapest) place to buy used books is from a Friends of the Library bookstore. Most libraries have one. Usually stock is sourced from the community, the store is volunteer fueled, and proceeds go towards supporting the local library. Here is my personal hierarchy for book procurement (I say this as someone who has worked in both libraries & used bookstores): Libraries > friends bookstores > used bookstores > indie bookstores > chain bookstores > Amazon.
