“I'm a fundraising nerd, so the premise of this documentary (two guys investigating a fraudulent "fundraising" telemarketing scheme) had instant appeal to me. It was even better than I expected. One of the two main protagonists (Patrick J. Pespas) has this bigger-than-life presence and a personal narrative that makes you truly want to root for him. The process of how this documentary came together is as fascinating as the subject matter itself. No spoilers, of course, but this is a fantastic pick if you are looking for something true-crime/scammy but also don't mind a dash of (non-saccharine) inspiration.”
