I Like You

“This is a book I inherited from my mother- a sing-song meditation on what makes us like- or even love- someone. My mother’s name is Laurie, but to be cute in high school she spelled it “Lauri” (and added a heart above the i, natch🖤) and after every iteration of the phrase “I like you” she wrote her own name onto the page. It’s the sweetest book, and the black and white illustrations make my infant trip balls.”
