“dr. noble’s book exposed then-invisible algorithmic oppression of Black people & people of color, especially women, on search engines. her work brought change to these systems and invited criticism of the attention economy which, at that time, was still largely immune. essential reading if you’re interested in learning more about the ways big tech perpetuates stereotypes to sell us information”
