Mariano Rivera's Final Outing

“Mariano Rivera is the greatest closing pitcher of all time. He had announced his retirement. This would be his final outing at home and subsequently his final moment on the mound ever. He had already secured the All Time MLB Saves record. They had teammates (Jeter & Petite) take him out of the game instead of the traditional manager (first time ever). These two had played with Mariano for his entire career and came up through the system together. Taking him out early meant they didn’t let Mariano finish the game or get the save so he could have his moment to walk out. It showed that sportsmanship, friendship and Respect is more important than any win. His impact on the game was unprecedented so this required an unprecedented finale. Never seen anything so heartfelt in Sports. Everyone was crying. Including all the players and every person watching. Mariano Rivera was the first and only unanimous entry into Major League Baseball’s Hall of Fame.”
