“This book is a compilation of Beatrix Farrand's instructions for the gardens she designed at Dumbarton Oaks. They remain her most complete and maintained gardens (both the research institution + the 60 acres the Blisses donated to the National Parks Service). She was meticulous in her design and plantings--I'd recommend checking out the Internet Archive version and looking at her section for the Herbaceous Border. Something is always blooming there, including bulbs!”
